Today I talk with Javier Santaolalla, PhD in physics and science communicator. Creator of the successful youtube channel Date a Vlog and author of books such as “El bosón de Higgs no te va a hacer la cama”, “Inteligencia física”, Life hacks extremos, among others. In this episode I will answer one of the most frequent questions I get asked, what book do you recommend? That’s why together with Javier we will review the physics, astronomy and space exploration books we recommend. We will also discuss our reading methods, how we choose a book, how we take notes and many other topics.

With an accessible and simple language, this program seeks to bring science closer to the people, to break with the myth of scientists in lab coats obsessed with their laboratories, highlighting the popularization as a way to reach people.
The structure is based on conversation, initial monologues and humor. Broadly speaking, this is the recipe of the so-called late show, a format already existing on the local screen, but which in this opportunity will be based on scientific knowledge. A “Chilean” adaptation of a format that has its most emblematic traditional versions in the United States, with people like David Letterman or Conan O’Brien.
The host of this space is the astrophysicist Dr. Juan Carlos Beamin, author of Astronomía Ilustrada -a book with scientific information on what and how an eclipse occurs- who is also scientific coordinator of the Centro de Comunicación de las Ciencias, a role that has allowed him to approach the field of popularization.
The first Sunday of October is the National Day of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation. The celebration was established in 2018, from a parliamentary initiative through which institutions that deal with scientific work are called to carry out activities to promote these disciplines that involve the whole society, such as visits to research centers, science fairs and other activities.

On February 15, the first chapter will be available on Playz, the red button on Smart TVs and on the Playz App; and the following Monday, the second chapter will be available on Playz and the first on Youtube.
These two renowned science communicators will talk with experts in different fields, including Martí Montferrer (C de Ciencia); physicist José Luis Crespo (Quantum Fracture); biomedical scientist Sandra Ortonobes (La Hiperactina); Neus Díez, expert in Neuromarketing; Clara Higueras, data scientist; psychologist Ramón Nogueras; educator David Calle; and economic analyst Marc Vidal. In total, some thirty collaborators and experts who will help us understand the future of our world.
