Start with the basics! Check the volume on both Spotify and your device to make sure it’s not muted. Check your speaker or headphone connections. If nothing is wrong, recheck the app to see if it didn’t freeze. Try quitting the app and logging back in to see if this fixes the problem.
Finally, try restarting the device you are using to see if this fixes the problem. If Hardware Acceleration is on, try turning it off (this can cause problems on computers that don’t need it).
Typically, Spotify has a Premium option that allows you to download songs to listen to later, even if it’s not online. If you can no longer download songs, first try restarting your device and see if that fixes the issue. If you have an Android device, go to Settings > Apps > Spotify. There, select options to Clear Cache and Clear Data.
If you have any monitoring or housekeeping apps running in the background, these could also be impeding the download process. Disable them before downloading anything to make sure everything goes smoothly.

If none of the Spotify problems you are having are solved here, we will also go over how you can contact the service in case the crash is global or if the problem is not yours but a general problem with your account, for example.
Spotify may be down and this may be the problem. If what you can’t do is open the app or listen to anything, it may be due to a general failure of the service worldwide or in a specific region. In that case, we can check on websites like Downdetector. Downdetector is a site that records crashes in all kinds of services. Among them, Spotify. You simply have to open it and you will see a series of boxes with options such as Instagram, Movistar and other operators. Among all the services we find the green icon that interests us and we must click on it. We will automatically see a map of failures in real time and a timeline.
If you have not seen that there is any specific fall, it is possible that the problem is in your phone. It is quite common that the Spotify application on Android gets stuck and does not allow us to close the song, for example. In that case, what we must do is to force stop on the cell phone.

Spotify device can not play this right now

After a lot of searching on the Internet, and trying crazy things, I discovered that the problem was in the sound settings of Windows 10. I describe how I solved it: After that everything worked as before.
For this error , it is good to check the external audio connection , in case you are using headphones or speakers, or reset the sound in the control panel, go to playback double click, advanced options and then reset defaults and then OK.
This problem or error started as soon as windows was updated. What worked for me to solve the problem was, update the audio device driver. With that everything went back to normal. I hope it helps.
I had the same problem when I wanted to play a song and I had to be changing the audio card from the integrated one to the one installed (ASUS Xonar DG), I tried the suggested options, even using the program with compatibility with Win XP SP3, although it is true that this last one played normally the songs, Spotity, did not load immediately at startup.    I solved it by installing the DFX Audio Enhancer, and now I can listen with my ASUS audio card without problems and also the program runs at startup (minimized).  OS: Windows 10 64 bits 2020.  I hope it helps
