El 18 de octubre de 2019 marcó un hito en el futuro de Chile. Después de casi tres décadas de gobiernos consecutivos que se limitaron a administrar los modelos económicos y políticos heredados de la dictadura cívico-militar (1973-1990), ese día los estudiantes secundarios lideraron y convocaron a los chilenos a pronunciarse contra el modelo que está detrás de décadas de niveles insostenibles de arbitrariedad y pobreza; de precariedad laboral; de sistemas educativos, de salud y de pensiones dirigidos por el mercado; y de corrupción desenfrenada entre políticos, instituciones públicas y empresa privada.
El plebiscito del 25 de octubre de 2020 demostró que más del 80% de la población chilena quería enterrar la Constitución de Augusto Pinochet de 1980, y el 15 y 16 de mayo de este año, los votantes eligieron a los miembros de la Asamblea Constituyente que se encargarían de esa tarea.Cuando la Asamblea Constituyente se reunió oficialmente el pasado 4 de julio, se dieron nuevos pasos hacia lo que será una Carta Magna igualitaria, inclusiva y democrática para Chile.

Last Tuesday, August 24, a new version of the Supra 2021 Hackathon was held, an initiative that is held annually to solve challenges through the Design Thinking methodology. For this occasion, the innovation challenges were worked with the Coomeva business group, who contributed 8 people.
«From the new vision of the Xaverian Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we want the students to have enriching experiences in their integral formation as professionals.    Recognizing innovation as a fundamental component to co-create transformative solutions that have a global impact,» said Gabrielle Devia, professional of the Xaverian Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
For student Allison Garcia, she valued the participation in these initiatives. «I thank Javeriana University for generating these spaces of creation and innovation for its students, since the knowledge learned in the process is very enriching for us as future professionals. Also, I highly value the methodology with which the challenge was carried out, because through Design Thinking we can shape and clarify our ideas so that they become a reality. It only remains for me to say thank you very much and that definitely every day I am more proud to be a Javeriana!

In this post we summarize an article that investigates whether the prevalence of norm violations in people’s social environment, such as corruption, can compromise an individual’s intrinsic honesty and dishonest behavior.
Exposure to a corruption scandal can modify these internal norms of behavior in two ways. On the one hand, a corruption scandal could change an individual’s perception of how widespread dishonest behavior is (see, Bicchieri and Xiao (2009); Dimant (2019)). On the other hand, exposure to a corruption scandal may generate an emotional response that diminishes the capacity for self-control and momentarily changes a client’s ability to follow his or her own internal rules of behavior (Cervellati and Vanin (2013)).
